Return And Refund Policy

Our Guarantee

We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If your replacement remote does not work with the specific model listed in our product description, or if you change your mind for any reason, you may return your item within 60 days of the order date for a full refund of the product price. No restocking fee applies.

Change of Mind Returns (within 60 days)

If you change your mind about a purchase, we accept returns within 60 days of the order date provided:

  • The item is in its original, unused, and resaleable condition
  • The original packaging is intact
  • You contact us first to request a return authorisation

All returns must be sent to our Head Office at 11 Dundonald Avenue, Malvern East VIC 3145.

Return shipping costs for change-of-mind returns are the responsibility of the customer. We recommend using a tracked service, as we cannot process refunds for items lost in return transit.

Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we will process your refund within 5 business days. Refunds are issued to your original payment method. Original shipping charges ($4.95) are non-refundable for change-of-mind returns.

Faulty, Damaged, or Incorrect Items

If your item arrives faulty, damaged in transit, or is not the item you ordered, we will cover all return shipping costs and provide either a full refund or a free replacement- your choice.

Compatibility- Not Working With Your Model

Our replacement remotes are designed to be compatible with the specific models listed in the product title and description. If your remote does not work with the listed model despite following the setup instructions, this is treated as a fault and you are entitled to a full refund including return shipping, or a free replacement. 

2 Year Warranty

All products are covered by a 2 Year warranty from the date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship. This warranty covers the following:

  • The remote stops functioning under normal use
  • Buttons fail or become non-responsive
  • The product is not of acceptable quality as described

This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, dropping, liquid exposure, or unauthorised modifications.

How to Make a Warranty or Return Claim (Step by Step)

  • Step 1 - Contact us: Email us at contact@universalremotecontrols.com.au with your order number and a brief description of the issue. If the item is faulty, please include a short video or photo showing the problem.
  • Step 2 - Return authorisation: We will reply within 1–2 business days with return instructions.
  • Step 3 - Return the item: Pack the item securely and include your Order number on the outside of the parcel. For faulty/incorrect items, we will provide a prepaid return label. For change-of-mind returns, please use your own tracked postage.
  • Step 4 - Refund or replacement: Once we receive your return and confirm the issue, your refund will be processed within 5 business days to your original payment method, or your replacement will be dispatched within 2 business days.

Australian Consumer Law

Our products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. This policy does not limit or exclude any rights you have under Australian Consumer Law.
